2008 Champions

There’s No Business Like Show Business

Congratulations
 to

Barb’s Stormy Knight, was inducted into the hall of fame in January 2008.

Barb’s Stormy Knight, owned by Don & Nancy Copland and trained by Robert Lawson, earned AGMH Under Saddle Platinum Merit Status in 2007 with his Western Grand Championship win. He is now Double Platinum (Versatility and Under Saddle) and was inducted into the AGMH Hall of Fame. There are only two other horses to have received Hall of Fame status to date: the renown Choco Dock and VBF’s Storm Warning. Congratulations Stormy!!!

SRF’s Silver Sundown
As winner of the 2007 High Point Award in the 4 Year Old Stallions and Geldings Classic Pleasure division, SRF’s Silver Sundown was a strong competitor. Now, as a five year old breeding stallion, Silver continues to excel in some of the most competitive classes showing on the UMH circuit. His phenomenal temperament allows him to compete equally in versatility classes as well as in conformation and on the rail classes. Silver’s first foal crop has all been sold and we’re looking forward to seeing his second crop arrive in the spring. More information about his pedigree is available on the Stallions page. Look for him in the Classic Stallions, Trail Obstacle, Pro-Am, and Classic Championship classes this year under the direction of his trainer, Charlie DeAtley. He is owned by Steve Heuslein of LaCrescent, MN.

Stormy has lots of talent and a good mind.

China

It is unusual for owners to be the same age as their horse but this is the case with 4 year old China. She actually belongs to Ella Tillery, 4 year old granddaughter of Don and Nancy Copland. While Robert is training and showing her now, it won’t be long before he hands over the reins to Ella who will show her in juvenile classes in a few short years. We appreciate the opportunity to help folks (especially the young ones) learn about the art of horsemanship. Look for China in the Country Trail Pleasure division and versatility classes this year.
